Malte Just on the podcast ‘Ein ganzes Viertel hören’

14th of October 2025

The so-called Kaisertor, the gateway to the city, still feels more closed and unwelcoming than open and inviting. But despite all the image problems, obstacles and drawn-out processes, we are keen to contribute our ideas for the future of Kaiserstrasse.

The station district has many faces – and we are one of them.

In the latest episode of the podcast ‘Ein ganzes Viertel hören’, Matthias Boenke talks to Malte Just about the designs we recently presented to the Bahnhofsviertel owners’ initiative: an idea for an urban intervention – feasible under the current conditions, and forward-looking – literally.

New forms of work

‘We don’t want to build a gate. No picture, no selfie spot. We want to design the street so that it feels like a gateway to the city: open, spacious, inviting and lively.’

‘Ein ganzes Viertel hören’ is a podcast produced by the Bahnhofsviertel property owners’ initiative, an association of Frankfurt property owners. The podcast regularly features interviews with people who live and work in this district.

Many thanks to Matthias Boenke for the open discussion and to the Bahnhofsviertel property owners’ initiative for the constructive exchange. We look forward to the next meeting.
